Lupa and Noel: The Adventure Begins

Lupa and Noel: The Adventure Begins

Lupa and Noel:
A Tail of Two Wolves

Chapter 1
I was less than one moon old when a young wolf pup found me. The wolf's name was Lupa and at the time she was 4 moons old. Now she is a 6 moon-old wolf pup with gold eyes and silver fur. She looked around nervously before finally picking me up in her jaws by my fur. The pup walked through many bushes in the shadows to a little hollow log and put me in there, coming back every day before finally telling her father about me. My name is Noel and I am a 2 moon old wolf pup with hazel/ green eyes and light brown fur.
"Come on Lupa! Hurry up!" I shout behind myself at her while running through the dense green woods. I always stick my nose into the wrong place and get us into a whole world or trouble, but it was never as bad as it was now. We were being chased through the woods by Hunter, a tall two-leg that Lupa always called a "human". All of a sudden, I saw a bush to the side of our path and ran into it. The moment I got into the bush, Lupa came in behind. I took one step in front of me and then all of a sudden, a sharp pain began spreading through my right front leg and something warm and wet running down onto my paw. I look down and see that I am stuck in a bear trap. "Lupa, help me!" I sob. We both shriek at a loud noise and then everything went black.
Chapter 2
I wake up and feel crushed against Lupa's side and I can hardly move. I look around and see many other small cages and many strange wood-like objects full of non-melting oddly-shaped snow. Then, just like I always do when I'm in a small space, I start whimpering and start to wine. You should never, ever but a claustrophobic wolf in a small space, there is no telling what it will do. I look to Lupa and ask, "What's going to happen to us?" She answers, "I'm not sure, only time will tell." Feeling annoyed at her answer, I put my head down. My eyes are getting droopy and I fell really tired. The last thing I see before droning off is Lupa, attempting to lift up her head and howl for help, then blackness.
When I wake up, I am in a very add place and surrounded by other wolves and many humans. "Lupa!" I yell, "Where are you?"
"Over here!" she said. I walk over to her and see that she is looking around at the area. There is no way that I can see to get out. We are surrounded an all sides by tall barriers stretching to the sky. The trees in the space are very weird compared to the ones back in the forest and the rocks felt strange under my paws. I start to frantically run around and I start to bang my head on one of the barriers.
"Calm down Noel, there is no need to freak out," laughed Lupa. "Listen to what those wolves are saying. We crept closer to the wolves, and I noticed that they were saying they need someone to help them with their plan to get out.
"We'll do it!" I blurted out."Noel! We don't know what we are getting ourselves into!" Lupa proclaimed.
Chapter 3
I should have listened to her, but after the other wolves jump on Hunter when he brought food, I dart out of the enclosure as fast as I can go on my injured paw. The only bad part was that Hunter started to follow us after the wolves got off of him.
We finally come across a forest and decide to rest there until my paw heals. I lower my head to the ground and start sniffing around. I then begin limp-running all around taking in all the sights. It all seems so new, yet, so familiar, like I've been here before. But as far as I can remember, I have never even been out of the other forest until now. All of a sudden, many arrows come flying toward us. I try to scamper away, but one arrow gets lodged into the same leg I had hurt before, so much for healing. Even though it hurts like mad, I choose to try to ignore it.
When Lupa came back from attacking Hunter, I start smelling everything again and I smell other wolves. Lupa and I followed the scent to an open area. The two of us see many other wolves in the clearing, and I really want to go out and greet them. When I start walking forward, Lupa bites my tail and pulls me back, and I yelp (more from fright than pain). "Ouch!" I yelp.
Apparently my cry startled the wolves just enough to get them curious and search for the sound. "Show yourself, trespasser!" says a large wolf with a scar across his face, much like the one Lupa's dad has. Lupa and I walk out and a she-wolf gasps at the sight of me.
Chapter 4
"Noel, is that you?" asks the wolf.
"Yes, it is, but... who are you?" I respond.
"Noel, I am your mother," she replies. Startled by her response, I step back one step. Then after looking her over and deciding that she must be telling the truth, I trot forward to her and lick her face, excited to be with my true mother.
"Dad, what are you doing here?" Lupa asks the large, scarred wolf.
"Well", he begins, "after you and Noel were captured, I tried chasing after the truck, but lost it around here. I looked around and found this pack, only being led by an alpha female and looking like it needed a lot of help. I offered to unite out pack with theirs if they let me rest here. The alpha agreed because she too was missing a child, whom I agreed to help find."
I start going around to all the wolves, meeting new wolves and wrestling with other pups my age. Lupa was scanning the area and trotting around in delight, her long, silver fur flowing in the breeze. She stopped by me and looked at my injured leg. "Noel, your leg is swollen."
I look down at it, then back at her and nod. I have chosen to let my mom tend to it. After the long journey, traveling and running on an injured leg that has been reinjured because of the arrow, the bear trap, and running on it too much, it is nice to be back home with my family and best friend, free to live as a wolf.
